GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the direct supervision of the Network Administrator, the purpose of the position is to provide technical and administrative support of the customer departments computing environment.

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs and maintains computer related hardware and software on both the desktop/peripheral and network level including repair, upgrades and cabling.

Functionally supervises technical staff in the setup of network printers and the administration of the printing environment.

Manages desktop patching to ensure compliance with latest releases. Tests patches for the desktop environment. Troubleshoots patch failures.

Monitors desktop anti-virus to ensure workstations and laptops are up to date. Troubleshoots update failures and malware issues.

Create and maintain desktop imaging software and images for transfer onto PCs.

Restores files as directed based on service requests.

Configures VOIP system, phones and associated hardware and software.

Administers user accounts and permissions including new user setups and the cleanup and archiving of unneeded accounts.

Performs troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated equipment.

Teams with both the Network Engineer and the Network Administrator in their assigned duties and projects.

Serves as part of the training team for new and continuing education of the organization’s personnel in the use the hardware and software they use to perform their jobs.

Assists in performing the duties of other technical staff in their absence or based on workload.

Maintains accurate records of work performed and ensures that customer service expectations are met.

Provides staffing of the Help Desk as required.

Performs 24 x 7 on-call duties on a rotational basis with other staff.

Acts as a technical resource for other IT staff.

Assists in performing the duties of other staff in their absence or based on workload.

Attends seminars and trainings as directed by Information Technology Director.

Perform related duties as directed.


 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and one (1) plus year work experience in PC technical services/hardware support and a minimum of one (1) year of previous network administration/systems experience or Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of two (2) years experience in PC technical services/hardware support and one (1) year of previous network administration/systems experience, Professional certifications such as MCITP, MCSA or MCSE are preferred.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates selected for hire may be subject to a drug test and employment will be contingent on results of said test. Must submit a valid Wisconsin Drivers License and meet the criteria to be placed on the Menominee Indian Tribe's approved drivers list; three (3) years clear driving record. Must successfully pass a background investigation, a reference check with previous employers. Must be able to meet the physical aspects of the position, i.e. stand, carry lift heavy objects, etc… Must possess hands on experience with Windows network operation systems, personal computers and operating systems and possess a strong working knowledge of various software programs, i.e…, Windows and Microsoft Server and Microsoft Office products. Must have experience with LAN/WAN network architecture including VOIP. Must have hands on experience in a Windows Server and Linux environment. Experience with hardware for server and network configurations. Experience with hardware and network configurations with MAC’s is a plus. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work alone, unsupervised.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive and/or advisory data and information.


Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages; may require the ability to utilize principles of fractions and/or interpret graphs.


Functional Aptitude: Requires ability to apply principles of rational systems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or scheduled form. Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.


Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change.
