MENOMINEE ACTION ALERT
Contact your US Congressional Representative, State Senator, and State Representatives to ask for their support for the approval of the Menominee Tribe’s Off-Reservation Gaming Application.

Dear Tribal Member, Friend, and Supporter:

In June 2011 the United States Department of Interior, BIA Assistant Secretary, Larry Echo Hawk, rescinded the "commutability" guidance memorandum that was the primary catalyst for the 2009 denial of our Off-Reservation Gaming Application. The Menominee Indian Tribe and United States have now come to a settlement of the Tribe’s lawsuit, which challenged the 2009 rejection of the Tribe’s application to acquire the Dairyland Greyhound Track for gaming purposes. The United States Department of Interior has agreed to withdraw the 2009 denial letter and will review the Tribe’s application based on the rules and regulations that were in place at the time of original application. However, the Tribe is now asking for your help.

The application is currently being reviewed by the United States Department of Interior. As members of the Menominee Indian Tribe, you too can help during this process. Please write, call, and email:

1. Your United States Congressional Representative

2. State Senator

3. State Assembly Representative

Ask them to support the Kenosha Project by contacting the U.S. Department of Interior to endorse the swift approval of the Menominee Indian Tribe’s Off-Reservation Gaming Application. For you convenience, a sample letter has been drafted and is attached to this call to action. Locate your political figures name and address on the attached list.

The Tribe appreciates your help and support during this critical time. If you would like more information, please contact the Chairman’s Office at (715)799-5114.

Sincerely,

Craig Corn, Chairman
Menominee Indian Tribe
