Let's Move In Indian Country
Let's Move

The Departments of Interior, Education and Agriculture, Indian Health Services, the Domestic Policy Council, Corporation for National Community Service, Tribes, Urban Indian Centers, community organizations, and others have worked together to develop a strong plan to launch and implement the recommendations of the Childhood Obesity Task Force Report in Indian Country. The Let’s Move! in Indian Country initiative addresses four main goals: Create a healthy start on life, develop healthy learning communities, increase physical activity and foster healthy, comprehensive food system policies. In addition to the federal government playing a role, LMIC outlines ways for tribal governments, schools, the private sector and non-profits to engage in this effort. LMIC sets the framework for each of these sectors to come together and contribute to the common goal of ending childhood obesity within a generation.
