Department Overview The Tribal Probation/Parole Department provides supervision to a current average of 234 clients who are sentenced to probation in lieu to a jail sentence. Our program meets with each individual client on a one-on-one basis twice a month to monitor their progress and ensure completion of their court ordered obligations. Our department maintains a workable relationship between various agencies providing services, mostly with in the tribal structure, to assist our clients needs such as Domestic Violence counseling, AODA Assessments, Anger Management, work sites, educational and employment opportunities. We do Pre-Sentence Investigations on individuals along with recommendations when requested by the Tribal Courts prior to their sentencing. To accommodate adequate supervision to our increasing case load our staff has increased to three probation officers. The Probation Director supervises clients ages 22 and over, the Youth Offender/Wellness Court Probation Officer supervises clients 17 through 21 and the Domestic Violence Probation Officer supervises all clientele who have charges that fall under the Domestic Violence Ordinance. We are also currently an active member of the Wellness Court (Drug Court), Coordinated Community Response Team (Domestic Violence) Sex Offender Registration and Notification Program, and Teen Court.
