Mission Statement
The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, Tax Commissioner Department monitors and enforces the Tribal regulatory permits, ordinances, licenses and payment of Tribal taxes. Ensures payment of refunds due the Menominee Indian Tribe from the Department of Revenue and the Department of Treasury. Menominee Tribal Legislature adopts or revises the ordinance that is adhered to by the Tax Commissioner.
 
Department Overview
Welcome to the Menominee Tribal Tax Commissioner Office’s home page. The office monitors and enforces tribal regulatory permits, ordinances licenses and payment of tribal taxes and is responsible for the refunds.

The five refunds that the office is responsible is State of Wisconsin Cigarette/Tobacco Tax Refunds, the Gasoline Tax Refund for the fleet vehicles. The office also assists in the Tribal procurement/bid process. Collection of 5% use tax on construction material for each project completed on reservation, inspect for violations and conduct site visits to construction project. Ordering and deliver of cigarettes/tobacco is done twice a week to the retailers through out the reservation.
