Department Overview The Menominee Tribal Child Support Agency operates primarily under Menominee Tribal Ordinance 85-22 which provides the agency with its jurisdictional and enforcement powers. The agency also is subject other applicable Tribal Ordinances and Federal Regulations that appy to Child Support. The primary functions of the Child Support agency include: Intake, Locate, Paternity Establishment, Child Support Establishment and Enforcement, Income Withholding, and Interstate Child Support Enforcement and Case Management. Intake services are initiated when an individual makes an application for services and pays an application fee or when a referral is received by the agency from an assistance program such as Economic Support, substitute care, Kinship Care or W-2/TANF or from an outside jurisdiction. A Tribal Court order establishing parental obligations is required before the Child Support Agency can provide services. Once support or paternity is established and an order from the Tribal Court is obtained, the Child Support Agency is then required to provide services consistent with the order of the Tribal Court. |
