The Charter for the Menominee Indian Gaming Authority was established by Menominee Tribal Ordinance No. 97-06. The Menominee Indian Gaming Authority is authorized and empowered to transact business in accordance with Article XIII, Sec. 1 of the Menominee Constitution and Bylaws. The purpose of the Menominee Indian Gaming Authority is to operate the Tribe's Gaming Operation, conducted within the Menominee Indian Reservations as defined by the 1854 Treaty and the Menominee Restoration Act. (Reservation) in order to generate revenue to fund the governmental operations and programs of the Tribe (Ord. No. 97-06, Sec. 2).
