Strong to severe thunderstorms will again be possible from Sunday afternoon (May 17) into Monday evening (May 18). Along with the risk of severe weather, heavy rainfall is also possible later this weekend into early next week. This update pertains to the NWS Green Bay service area of north-central and northeast Wisconsin. Bottom Line Up Front · Severe risk timing: Late this afternoon and evening, especially between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The next round of potentially severe weather would occur Sunday night into Monday evening. . · Target Area: The highest potential for severe storms today is across central WI. For Sunday night into Monday evening, the whole area is at risk. · Primary Hazards: The main threat today is large hail. Large hail is possible Sunday night. All risks of severe weather including damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes will be possible on Monday and Monday evening. . What has changed? · Portions of central and north-central and far northeast WI are now in a Marginal Risk (Level 1) for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center is showing an increasing risk of severe weather Monday and Monday evening.
