Environmental Services

Perform lake and stream studies for fisheries and other planning, monitor water quality to maintain in optimum condition. Habitat restoration including wild rice, trout streams, and sturgeon. Remediate sites that have become contaminated by leaking tanks and other spill sources. Work for the proper disposal and cleanup of hazardous waste. Monitor transportation of hazardous materials and work with facilities in complying with hazardous materials regulations and use. Work to maintain air quality, by participating in partnership and monitoring air quality permits. Work with Menominee County in Emergency Response Planning. Perform surveys of public food service facilities and other public facilities to assure safe and sanitary conditions. Gather data on injury trends and develop and implement strategies to address specific injury problems. Work in conjunction with other Tribal Departments in planning and implementing programs for municipal sewage disposal, water systems, and solid waste disposal. Analysis of individual drinking water systems to assure safe water, technical assistance in sewage disposal, indoor air pollution, recreational sites, vector control, epidemiology, industrial hygiene, etc.
