Food Distribution

The Menominee Food Distribution Program is dedicated to providing quality service, a variety of nutritious food items, recipes and nutrition information for maintaining a balanced diet for eligible persons living within our service area.

The Food Distribution Program opened in October, 1980 in the basement of the old Tribal Courts Building (the same location we are currently in) with the first distribution beginning in November, 1980. We had 30 different food items available at that time. We distributed food to 89 households with a total of 332 recipients. Today we have between 389-420 households with around 1,000-1100 participants and 90 to 95 different food items, depending on the seasons. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. 1. Distribution days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. 2. Mondays and Fridays are for delivery, inventory, cleaning, book work and reports.
